Kanigoten Hotel

Kani-Goten is a premium resort ryokan on the Ariake Sea, nationally popular as an Ariake Sea luxury retreat. Located on the border of Saga and Nagasaki prefectures, it offers the beauty of the Ariake Sea and restful time. From the rooms, you can enjoy a panoramic view like a movie screen. The view from the open-air baths is also breathtaking, and you can even see Mt. Unzen in the distance. The panoramic open-air bath is designed so that soaking feels like becoming one with the Ariake Sea, and it is available only to guests. Meals (breakfast and dinner) are served in semi-private sunken-kotatsu style spaces. A must-try local specialty is “Takezaki crab,” purchased directly from crab fishermen every morning. Access: by public transportation, a free shuttle is available from JR Nagasaki Main Line “Hizen-Oura Station” (reservation required). By car, it is about 60 minutes from Takeo-Kitakata IC (Nagasaki Expressway) via National Routes 498 and 207 toward Isahaya.
