Warakuen
Warakuen is a ryokan located in the center of the Ureshino Onsen area. It is especially known for its open-air “tea bath,” a rare experience nationwide that uses plenty of premium Ureshino tea. Warakuen was awarded three stars in the Michelin Guide Fukuoka–Saga–Nagasaki 2019 Special Edition. The inn has 50 rooms in total across three room types; options include the main building’s Japanese-style rooms with beds, and rooms with open-air baths as well. Meals are mainly kaiseki featuring abundant seasonal ingredients, and you can also enjoy Ureshino specialties like onsen yudofu and tea porridge—showcasing the chefs’ care and creativity. Access: by public transportation, take the JR bus from JR Sasebo Line “Takeo-Onsen Station” to Ureshino Onsen (about 25 minutes), get off at “Ureshino Onsen Bus Center,” then walk 3 minutes. Direct buses run from Fukuoka and Nagasaki airports to the bus center; shared taxis are available from Saga Airport. By car, it is about 5 minutes from Ureshino IC.
