Located in Shimonoseki—blessed with seafood thanks to the Sea of Japan, the Seto Inland Sea, and the Kanmon Strait spread out below—you can enjoy market-fresh, reasonably priced sushi to your heart’s content. The toppings are purchased daily, and the selection is outstanding: from otoro and seared nodoguro to live kuruma shrimp, ark shell, striped jack, wild sea bream, wild flounder, fresh uni, turban shell, torafugu, chutoro, eel, whale, snow crab, scallops, and more. Seasonal toppings are also available depending on the time of year. For soup, the “Fuku no Aka-dashi” is highly recommended, and the chawanmushi is also excellent. Takeout is available, making it a convenient stop during a drive for a sushi bento.
