Saga Prefecture Observation Hall
The Saga Prefectural Government Observation Hall is located on the top floor of the Saga Prefectural Office building. From about 50 meters above ground, it offers a 360-degree panoramic view across Saga and is one of the prefecture’s best viewpoints. Because the prefectural office building is the tallest structure in Saga Prefecture, there are few obstructions to the scenery. On clear days, you can even see as far as Unzen Fugendake beyond the Ariake Sea. Dining at the observation hall’s restaurant is also recommended. The scenic restaurant “Sagan Restaurant Shino” serves meals using plenty of local Saga seafood and farm produce. Lunch is very reasonably priced, and in the evening, a course of Japanese-Western creative cuisine enjoyed with the night view is especially recommended. Access: by public transportation, about a 20-minute walk from JR Saga Station (JR Nagasaki Main Line). By bus, take a Saga City bus, Nishitetsu bus, Showa bus, or Yutoku bus to “Kencho-mae” bus stop and walk about 1 minute.
