Kishigon Ryokan

Kishigon Ryokan is a historic hot spring inn founded in Tensho 4 (1576), standing halfway up the Ikaho Onsen stone-step street, with a Taisho-retro atmosphere. Because it sits higher on the steps, it offers great views, and its bath design emphasizes scenery as well as hot spring quality. Baths include the separate open-air bath “Gonzaemon no Yu,” a fully hinoki-wood open-air bath; the scenic open-air bath “Rokuzaemon no Yu” overlooking the Mikuni mountain range and the Tanigawa range; the large bath “Matazaemon no Yu” for relaxed soaking; plus private baths and footbaths—13 bath spots in total across the main building, annex, bathhouse wing, and footbath area. All baths are 100% free-flowing source water. After bathing, it’s perfect to stroll the stone-step street right outside the inn. Inside, facilities like the coffee lounge and reception rooms overflow with Taisho-retro feel, letting you immerse yourself in a time-slip-like atmosphere that’s also very photogenic. There are many room types to suit group size and travel style, and dinner options can be selected as well, making it an inn that can fit many kinds of trips.
