Hakata Nadokoro Yoshizuka Unagiya is an eel kaiseki restaurant in Nakasu, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. Founded in 1873, it is a long-established and highly regarded eel restaurant. Seating includes a hall area and private rooms; in private rooms you can choose chair-style or floor-seating (zaisu). You can enjoy carefully selected eel in a variety of dishes. It’s often described as a must-visit famous shop—if you want eel in Fukuoka, you can’t go wrong here. Their kabayaki is crisp and aromatic on the outside and fluffy and tender inside, with a sweet sauce that becomes addictive. Popular menu items include unadon and unaju, and items like makunouchi and eel chazuke are also favored.
