Fukuoka PayPay Dome
Fukuoka PayPay Dome is a multi-purpose domed stadium in Fukuoka City. It was renamed from “Fukuoka Yafuoku! Dome” to “Fukuoka PayPay Dome” in February 2020. It is used not only for baseball but also frequently for concerts and large events. The dome features a retractable roof—an early, pioneering attempt in Japan. Because many visitors come specifically for the dome and then do some sightseeing, the surrounding area has many restaurants and other facilities. Nearby attractions include Fukuoka Tower and United Cinemas Fukuoka. Inside the dome is an amusement area called “THE BIG LIFE,” where for 500 yen (adults) / 400 yen (children) you can play games as much as you like. Stadium tours include options such as a practice-viewing course and an adventure course, starting from about 1,300 yen; even if you’re not a baseball fan, seeing practice up close can be a great experience. Access is about a 10-minute walk from Karato-machi Station (Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line), Exit 3.
