APA Hotel & Resort Tokyo Bay Makuhari
APA Hotel & Resort Tokyo Bay Makuhari is Japan’s tallest hotel building at 50 stories and 180 m, and also one of Japan’s largest in room count with 2,007 rooms. The property consists of three buildings: the 50-story Central Tower, and the 11-story West Wing and East Wing. On the top floor (50F) of the Central Tower is the dining & bar “Sky Cruise Makuhari,” where you can enjoy meals with views from 180 m—an experience unique to this hotel. If you don’t like heights, “Teppanyaki Nanami” on the Central Tower B1F is recommended; it’s a hideaway-style teppanyaki restaurant with private rooms for 2–12 people, and a dedicated chef grills ingredients right in front of you. There are many other tenants and facilities, such as a night pool, “Kanzume Bar mr.kanso” where you can enjoy 300+ kinds of canned foods and 100+ kinds of alcohol at low prices, a souvenir shop “Miyageya” whose logo evokes a certain news program, and the resort spa “Allumer” where therapists’ warm hands help relax tired bodies and minds. There is also a foreign currency exchange machine, making it a good choice for an overnight stay before overseas travel. Access: about a 7-minute walk from Kaihin-Makuhari Station on the JR Keiyo Line.
