Hoshino Resorts Aomoriya

Hoshino Resorts Aomoriya is an onsen ryokan themed around "Noresore Aomori"—"noresore" is Tsugaru dialect meaning "to the fullest" or "thoroughly"—offering an immersive mix of Aomori hot springs, food, and entertainment. The property spans an enormous 220,000 tsubo (about 17 Tokyo Domes). Its hot spring, Komaki Onsen, was developed in 1971 by a person who had served as a secretary to Eiichi Shibusawa. The spring is an alkaline simple spring, said to be beneficial for issues like neuralgia and muscle pain. The signature outdoor bath "Ukiburo" feels integrated with the garden pond, letting guests enjoy seasonal scenery such as autumn leaves. The "Michinoku Matsuriya" hosts shows themed around Aomori’s major festivals (including the Aomori Nebuta Festival) year-round. Dining is popular as well, especially the buffet restaurant "Noresore Shokudo" featuring a wide selection of Aomori local dishes alongside Japanese, Western, and Chinese options. The resort also runs many seasonal events, such as cherry-blossom viewing in spring, fishing experiences in summer, and a stove-heated horse carriage ride in winter. Access includes walking from Misawa Station on the Aoimori Railway (about 15 minutes) and free shuttle buses from places such as Misawa Station (short ride), JR Hachinohe Station (~40 minutes), Aomori Airport (~2.5 hours; suspended Nov 9–Mar), and Misawa Airport (~20 minutes). Shuttle buses other than the one from Misawa Station require reservation at least 3 days before the stay.
