Goza Shirahama Beach

Goza Shirahama Beach is a beach located at the tip of the Shima Peninsula. Because it has been selected as one of Japan’s "88 Best Bathing Beaches," it is highly evaluated not only for water quality and natural environment, but also for surrounding convenience and safety. The water is so clear that it hardly feels like a typical swimming beach: even if you go a little deeper, you can see the sea floor, and you can observe marine fish even without snorkeling. The scenery of white sand and beautiful blue water gives you the feeling of visiting a resort destination. There are many parking lots nearby, and most are equipped with showers, making it very convenient for changing clothes after swimming. There are also many minshuku inns, so even if you feel "camping is not for me," you can still enjoy a beach trip with an overnight stay. If you are lucky, you may also be able to enjoy fresh seafood such as Ise lobster caught in the Ise area. Because it is a swimming beach, there are very few people outside the summer season. This makes it something of a hidden gem where you can enjoy a relaxed sunset, and it can also be recommended for couples. While you can reach the beach by bus, it is more convenient to drive from the Ise Expressway "Ise-nishi IC."
