Couronne Tsukuba

Couronne Tsukuba is a hugely popular bakery chain with locations mainly in Ibaraki, as well as in Chiba and Tochigi. Freshly baked bread can be taken out, or enjoyed at the terrace seating (10 tables). Their breads are highly regarded, made by skillfully using more than a dozen types of flour including an original flour blend. In particular, the “”Ultimate Sausage France”” is exceptionally popular. The sausage inside is an impressive 40 cm long, developed jointly with a butcher. After being smoked with sakura wood chips, it’s wrapped in baguette dough and baked to a fragrant finish—hard to resist. Other popular items include “”Fruit Rye,”” lavishly mixed with raisins, orange peel, lemon peel, walnuts, and almonds, and “”Pain au Vin,”” made with dough prepared with red wine and kneaded with red-wine-soaked dried fruit. Their commitment also extends to simple loaves and baguettes, making it hard to list all the appeal. Access is about 7 minutes by taxi from Tsukuba Express “”Tsukuba Station.”
