Doho Park

Doho Park is a greenery-rich general park. Of its roughly 20 hectares, a large portion is occupied by “”Doho-numa.” Although the word “”numa”” can suggest marshy ground, here it’s more like a lake with a solid body of water. Along the water is the grassy “”Water and Green Plaza,”” where many people spread out picnic sheets and relax thanks to the pleasant scenery. It’s also great for children: the “”Adventure Plaza”” has many warm, log-made athletic play structures, and the “”Playground Plaza”” has two combined playsets. The park also lends tricycles and balance bikes (Striders), which is convenient for visitors who don’t have their own or who are sightseeing. As a sports facility, it’s also very well equipped, with a heated pool usable until 21:00 from spring through autumn, six tennis courts, and a gymnasium with 400 seats. Access is by bus from Tsukuba Express “”Tsukuba Station”” to “”Doho Park”” or “”Ninomiya,”” or from JR “”Hitachino-Ushiku Station”” by bus to “”Doho Park.”
