Restaurant Banya
Hota Fishing Port Banya is a dining facility directly operated by the Hota Fisheries Cooperative Association in Kyonan Town. You can enjoy hearty fishermen’s cuisine packed with super-fresh seafood caught that morning, at cooperative special prices. Access is about a 15-minute walk from JR Uchibo Line Hota Station. A recommended menu item is the “Daimyo-zukuri Sashimi,” a large sashimi assortment for 2–3 people featuring local fish—since the lineup changes with the season, it’s a great item to order. Mackerel dishes are also popular. The classic “Mackerel Simmered in Miso” has sweet-and-salty miso flavor deeply infused and pairs perfectly with rice. “Mackerel Yurin-style Fried Karaage” features chili heat as a key accent and is recommended eaten together with the sweet-savory sauce and a generous portion of vegetables. The facility also has “Banya Shinkan,” which can accommodate up to 210 people at once; by reservation, you can enjoy value set-course meals. In addition, it includes the high-concentration carbonated spring bath “Banya no Yu” and lodging facilities (4 rooms).
