AEON Mall Makuhari Shintoshin is a mall-type shopping center, and its total floor area including multi-story parking is said to be among the largest in Japan for large shopping centers. Access is about 8 minutes by local bus from JR Keiyo Line Kaihin-Makuhari Station. Unlike typical AEON malls where AEON’s direct retail floor is the main focus, this facility is composed of four lifestyle malls: the adult-oriented Grand Mall, the family-oriented Family Mall, the experience-based sports-focused Active Mall (one of the largest in Japan), and the Pet Mall (a large lifestyle & solutions proposal-type mall). A featured recommendation here is “Kandu Makuhari Shintoshin” inside the Family Mall—an occupation-experience theme park for children opened in 2013. There are about 30 kinds of jobs kids can try, and one popular option is “YouTuber.” Children can choose content like “I tried ○○,” film it, and even edit the video themselves.
