Hyakukannon Onsen
Hyaku-Kannon Onsen is a day-use hot spring in Kuki City, Saitama Prefecture. It is the only naturally self-springing hot spring in Saitama and is classified as a sodium chloride strong-salt spring. The source temperature is 57.3°C, and the water is mildly alkaline. The bathwater is brown in color with a petroleum-like aroma and has a salty taste. Because the spring produces abundant water, the baths are 100% free-flowing from the source. The facility includes both the bathing area and a Kannon hall, and at the on-site onsen stand anyone can take home the hot spring water for 100 yen per 30 liters. It is also known as a “beauty bath,” making it popular with women. By alternating between soaking in the lukewarm high-concentration carbonated bath and the hotter natural spring bath, visitors can help regulate the autonomic nervous system and support overall physical balance. Private family baths are available and are popular with seniors and families with children. These family baths include a private resting room, and reservations are often fully booked, so it is recommended to reserve in advance. There is also a dining area, making it possible to spend the entire day here. Access to Hyaku-Kannon Onsen is a 3-minute walk from Higashi-Washinomiya Station on the JR Utsunomiya Line.
