Hanamaki Onsen Hotel Koyokan

Hanamaki Onsen Hotel Koyokan is a hot spring ryokan in Hanamaki Onsen, one of Tohoku’s leading onsen resorts. Surrounded by Iwate’s rich natural scenery, three sister inns stand side by side, and thanks to the resort’s large scale and well-equipped facilities, it is popular as a base for sightseeing around Tohoku. Hotel Koyokan is especially known for its spacious rock open-air bath. You can also enjoy onsen-hopping, as you are free to soak in the hot springs of the connected sister hotels "Hotel Senshukaku" and "Hotel Hanamaki" via indoor passageways. The hotel is about a 15-minute drive from Hanamaki Airport and about a 20-minute drive from Tohoku Shinkansen "Shin-Hanamaki Station." A shuttle bus connects "Shin-Hanamaki Station" and the hotel, and with a reservation you can ride for free. For road trips, access is very convenient via Hanamaki IC on the Tohoku Expressway—about four kilometers straight ahead. Guest rooms range from classic Japanese-style rooms to Japanese-Western rooms, as well as a Western-style floor added in 2013, accommodating a wide variety of travel needs. Stroll through the on-site rose garden, visit Kamabuchi Falls, and take a relaxing walk along the stream; a visit to Hanamaki Onsen Inari Shrine can also add a refreshing, uplifting touch to your stay.
