Niseko Mt. Resort Grand Hirafu
Niseko Mountain Resort Grand Hirafu Ski Area is a ski resort in Kutchan Town, Abuta District, Hokkaido. It is the largest ski area in Niseko and is famous for its expansive powder snow—often considered a dream destination for skiers and snowboarders. The resort is designed to satisfy everyone from beginners to advanced riders. For beginners, rentals and ski/snowboard lessons are well-equipped, while advanced riders can enjoy around 30 different courses. The maximum slope angle is about 40 degrees, and the longest course stretches roughly 5,600 meters, offering a grand-scale ride. The resort is not only for winter: in summer, visitors can take gondolas or lifts up the mountain, and there are also mountain bike rental options to explore riding routes. Mid-mountain, there is a photo spot called "Hilltop bed – #NISEKO SIESTA –" where you can take pictures with Mt. Yotei in the background. For access, there are direct buses from Kutchan Station on the Hakodate Main Line, making it easy to reach.
