Castle town Kanazawa tour

The Jonai-machi Kanazawa Loop Bus is a route bus in Kanazawa City designed to connect major sightseeing spots for visitors. It departs from Kanazawa Station (East Exit) and operates “clockwise” and “counterclockwise” routes, with buses leaving about every 15 minutes. The base fare is 200 yen for adults and 100 yen for children, but a popular option is the all-day free pass: 600 yen for adults and 300 yen for children for unlimited rides. With this pass, you can also receive discounts at tourist attractions in Kanazawa associated with the bus stops, making it a good deal. Note that the ticket is sold not on the bus, but at Hokutetsu Group counters (such as the Hokutetsu Ekimae Center). One loop takes about 40 minutes. The clockwise route goes first to Higashi Chaya District, then Kenrokuen/Kanazawa Castle, then the 21st Century Museum; the counterclockwise route goes via Omicho Market, Nagamachi Samurai District area, and then Nishi Chaya District/Teramachi. Since buses come every 15 minutes, you can hop off to sightsee and not worry much about waiting. Access: available from places like the Kanazawa Station East Exit bus terminal and other tourist areas.
