Kudoyama Sanada Museum

The Kudoyama Sanada Museum was built to pass down to future generations the three-generation story of Sanada Masayuki, Yukimura, and Daisuke—grandfather, father, and son. Kudoyama Town is known as a place connected to the Sanada family because it is home to "Sanada-an," said to be built on the former residence site where they lived after losing the Battle of Sekigahara, and because Yukimura is believed to have lived here for the longest period of his life. Inside the museum, rooms are organized along historical themes such as the "Kudoyama Period" spent in this area and the "Siege of Osaka" where Yukimura fought, making it an easy-to-learn space. Right at the entrance, displays of Masayuki, Yukimura, and Daisuke in armor greet visitors, sure to heighten the mood. The 2016 NHK Taiga drama "Sanadamaru" also brought attention, attracting fans and tourists from all over Japan. Access: Take the Nankai Koya Line to "Kudoyama Station" and walk about 10 minutes west. After learning some history, it’s common to continue about 6 minutes further west to "Roadside Station Kakinosato Kudoyama" for lunch or souvenir shopping.
