Kaiyodo Figure Museum

Kaiyodo Figure Museum Kurokabe Ryuyukan is a must-visit attraction for figure and model fans, showcasing an impressive collection of exquisitely detailed, beautifully painted figures produced by Kaiyodo Co., Ltd., a company renowned for collectible toys and scale models. Located about a 5-minute walk from JR Nagahama Station, the museum also offers a fun bonus for visitors: an admission gift with a chance to win a figure or a can badge. Inside, five exhibition zones are organized by era and genre, allowing you to see Kaiyodo’s craftsmanship up close—from the garage kits that marked the company’s origins, to highly acclaimed nature models, and iconic "Choco Egg" figures that helped spark Japan’s collectible toy boom. Box-style dioramas add another layer of immersion, letting you step into miniature worlds you may never have seen before. The museum reopened after a renewal in 2020, adding new works alongside its existing displays. Unique, hands-on workshops—such as figure painting and diorama making—are also highly recommended, offering experiences you can only enjoy here.
