Seibu Chichibu Nakamise Shopping Street

Seibu Chichibu Nakamise Street used to be an arcade shopping street connecting to Seibu-Chichibu Station, but in 2016 the passageway was closed and all stores shut down. In 2017, it was reborn as the integrated hot spring complex “Seibu Chichibu Ekimae Onsen Matsuri no Yu.” The former retail and dining functions of Seibu Chichibu Nakamise Street were combined with a hot spring facility to create a multi-purpose destination. With the goal of enhancing the brands of Chichibu sightseeing and Chichibu hot springs, the concept is built around the more than 300 festivals held annually in the Chichibu region, as well as Chichibu Festival float events and kagura performances. The first floor includes the Chichibu Souvenir Market shopping area, the Nomikui-dokoro Matsuri no Utage dining and event area, and the second floor is Matsuri no Yu, featuring hot springs and relaxation spaces. Facilities include an open-air bath, high-concentration artificial carbonated baths, a silk bath, bedrock bathing, and a premium lounge, creating a floor truly suited for rest and rejuvenation. Access is extremely convenient—get off at Seibu-Chichibu Station on the Seibu Chichibu Line and it is right there. To match the Japanese-style concept, the station itself has also been renovated to create a unified atmosphere.
