Road Station Komono

Michi-no-Eki Komono is a roadside station along the Yunoyama Kaido (National Route 477). Although it is a "michi-no-eki," it is also easy to reach by train: it is just a three-minute walk after getting off at "Naka-Komono Station" on the Kintetsu Yunoyama Line. If you drive, you can arrive in about 15 minutes by heading toward Yunoyama via National Route 477 from Tomeihan Yokkaichi IC. At Michi-no-Eki Komono, you can buy freshly harvested local vegetables and regional products such as kusa-mochi, as well as souvenirs. Kusa-mochi and ohagi sold outside the summer season are also popular items. At the on-site diner "Okuidokoro Makomo no Sato," you can taste local makomo cuisine. However, it is open only on Saturdays and Sundays, so if you want to enjoy makomo dishes in the diner, be sure to visit on a weekend. The parking lot also includes spaces for people with disabilities. Yunoyama Onsen is nearby, making it a recommended stop to pick up local souvenirs on your way back from the hot springs. However, it is not a very large roadside station, so on busy days such as weekends, it may be a little difficult to shop comfortably if it is crowded.
