JR Morioka Station Building Fes"an
Morioka Station Building FES"AN is a commercial complex made up of the station-connected Main Building, FES"AN Terrace, and the Odense-kan wing. The facility spans three floors above ground and one basement level, offering a full range of shopping—from fashion and daily goods to restaurants and souvenir stores. Dining options are especially plentiful, with many places serving Iwate specialties such as wanko soba (available even for solo diners), Morioka reimen, and jajamen. The 1st-floor area of Odense-kan ("Odense-kan 1F") is a major favorite with tourists: you can find Iwate’s famous sweets, seafood products, and other local delicacies, as well as folk crafts like Nanbu ironware—plus souvenirs from other Tohoku prefectures. "Odense" is an Iwate dialect expression meaning "welcome." The interior design incorporates motifs inspired by Nanbu ironware and traditional Nanbu dyeing patterns on ceilings and pillars, creating a distinctly Iwate atmosphere. Because it is directly connected to JR Morioka Station, it’s extremely convenient for using during transfer time. There is also a parcel delivery counter, allowing you to ship luggage home and travel light.
