Hachikita Highlands Ski Resort
Hachi-Kita Kogen Ski Resort is a ski resort in Kami Town, Mikata District, Hyogo Prefecture, known for having some of the best snow quality in Kansai. Together with the adjacent Hachi Kogen Ski Resort, it is popularly called “Hachi/Hachi-Kita.” Access is via the JR San’in Main Line to Yoka Station, then take Zentan Bus, transfer at the “Hachi-Kita-guchi” bus stop, and get off at the “Hachi-Kita” bus stop, right nearby. The long course from the summit down to the base is said to be the longest in Kansai, and the resort has many fans who enjoy cruising on high-quality snow. Via the summit of Mt. Hachibuse, you can also access the neighboring Hachi Kogen Ski Resort, and together the two resorts form one of the largest ski areas in western Japan. The “Kids’ Park,” with various attractions, is also popular with families. The resort is also known for having the “Yuichiro Miura & Snow Dolphin School,” hosted by professional skier Yuichiro Miura. After skiing, you can soothe your tired body at the nearby “Hachi-Kita Onsen Toji-no-Sato” hot spring.
