Gero Onsen Ogawaya
Gero Onsen Ogawaya is a ryokan in a superb scenic location overlooking the Hida River, famous for its Tokai-region-largest-class 100-tatami-space tatami bath. With 15 different room types—such as rooms with private hot spring baths, rooms designed for easier movement for elderly guests, and large rooms suitable for groups—it can be used for many different travel styles. The inn features Ogawaya’s distinctive large tatami-bath public bath that fuses tatami culture and hot springs, plus five different-themed large baths and nine private rental baths, where you can relax in natural hot spring water known for beauty-skin effects. In the women’s bath, there is a White Ion Bath; soaking slowly helps remove skin impurities, leaving you with smooth, silk-like radiance afterward. Cuisine emphasizes local ingredients and Hida’s food culture, including hōba-yaki and Hida beef dishes, as well as seasonal dishes using rich ingredients through the year. Breakfast is also a buffet with about 50 Japanese and Western dishes, including Hida beef items and Hida Koshihikari rice. Inside the inn, there are fun facilities like a footbath, karaoke rooms, and table tennis rooms, making it easy for families and groups to enjoy a relaxed stay.
