Yuda Onsen UBL Hotel Matsumasa

Yuda Onsen Ubel Hotel Matsumasa is a long-established ryokan in Yuda Onsen, one of the most celebrated hot spring towns in the Sanyo region. The property began as a hot spring company and opened in 1929 (Showa 4) as “Sennin-yu,” named for its spacious bath that could accommodate 1,000 people at the same time. At the time, it was loved by many, including haiku poet Santoka Taneda and poet Chuya Nakahara. Although today’s Sennin-yu at Yuda Onsen Ubel Hotel Matsumasa has been renovated, it remains a rare opportunity to experience the same hot spring water enjoyed by people in that era. The source is high-temperature (around 72°C) and extremely abundant, and the baths are 100% free-flowing from the source. In addition to Sennin-yu, the inn offers open-air baths, private reservable baths, and special rooms with private hot spring baths. Access to Yuda Onsen Ubel Hotel Matsumasa is convenient: by car, it is about 10 minutes from the Ogori IC on the Chugoku Expressway. By public transportation, it is about a 13-minute walk from “Yuda Onsen Station” on the JR Yamaguchi Line. A convenience store is also about a 3-minute walk from the hotel.
