Roadside Station Lake Biwa Ohashi Kome Plaza

Michi-no-Eki Biwako Ohashi Kome Plaza is a roadside station located at the western end of the Lake Biwa Bridge, serving as a local information hub, a base for regional collaboration, and a relaxing oasis for travelers using the Lake Biwa Bridge toll road and surrounding routes. The on-site Shiga specialty direct-sales market "Oishiya Ureshiya" offers fresh produce grown by local farmers. In addition to seasonal fruits and vegetables, locally made processed foods are especially popular, with highlights including Omi beef bento lunches, Omi rice, and local sake from the Omi region. The shop area also features a wide range of Shiga souvenirs, such as Omi beef-themed gifts and tsukudani (simmered delicacies) made with fish from Lake Biwa. You can also enjoy dishes made with Shiga-grown ingredients at the attached restaurant, where you can dine while viewing the Lake Biwa Bridge up close—an excellent stop for Lake Biwa sightseeing and a delicious local food break. By public transport, take a bus from JR Katata Station and get off at "Biwako Ohashi Kome Plaza." By car, it is about 5 minutes from Mano IC on the Kosei Road.
