Yunangi
Yuunangii is an izakaya in Naha City, Okinawa, so popular that lines form even before opening. The menu is extensive—so extensive that you can eat almost any Okinawan home-style dish here. It includes Okinawa soba, soki soba, rafute (braised pork belly), and simmered soki ribs—most of what people imagine as “Okinawan food.” The taste is well regarded, and it’s very popular with tourists. Rafute in particular is a must-try. Prices are also affordable, so it’s a great idea to build “eat at Yuunangii once” into your Okinawa itinerary. At lunch, if you order one dish, staff will ask whether you want rice; pickles and miso soup come with it, making it a set meal. At night, you can enjoy dishes alongside alcohol. Because it’s close to Kokusai-dori, there are many overseas tourists as well, and you’ll also see celebrity autographs inside. Access: about a 5-minute walk from Yui Rail Kencho-mae Station.
