Ryukyu Mura
Ryukyu Village is a culture-and-nature theme park in Onna Village, Okinawa Prefecture. With an area of about 95,000 square meters, it’s a great place for first-time Okinawa visitors. You can tour traditional Okinawan houses and try various craft experiences. A major highlight is the powerful traditional dance performance “Eisa,” where you can even join in and dance; the show’s songs and dances create a lively, festival-like atmosphere. Because there are set performance times, it’s best to check the schedule when you enter. Near the entrance, “Okinawa no Eki Chanpuruu” offers bingata (traditional dyeing) costume rentals for photos, souvenirs, and retro-style activities where you can try old-fashioned games. You can also step inside the old houses and relax. There are water buffalo and goats, and you can drink sugarcane juice made using an old-style sugar press. It’s also commonly used as a domestic school trip destination, reflecting its popularity and broad appeal. Access is about 60 minutes by bus from Naha Bus Terminal.
