Kuroyuri is a well-known eatery inside the “Anto” commercial building at Kanazawa Station, serving famous Kanazawa oden and local cuisine. This long-established shop has over 50 years of history. In their oden simmered in Kuroyuri’s dashi, popular items include daikon, shumai, and sardine fish balls (iwashi tsumire). For local dishes using plenty of regional ingredients, recommended items include iwana salt-grilled, duck jibuni, and Hakusan kata-tofu. They also stock many kinds of sake, especially Ishikawa local sake “Manzairaku,” and Kaga umeshu is popular among women. There are also side dishes like dote-yaki, and many visitors say this is the first place to go in Kanazawa. It’s popular with both locals and tourists from Japan and abroad. On a snowy day, enjoying oden that someone else has patiently simmered feels especially wonderful. Access: directly connected to JR and other lines’ Kanazawa Station—enter “Anto,” and it’s inside.
