Itaru Honten
Itaru Main Store is an izakaya (Japanese pub) in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture. It’s a famous Kanazawa izakaya, popular for seasonal seafood delivered directly from production areas, carefully chosen junmai sake, and Kaga vegetable dishes. It has many repeat visitors from around Japan who say, “If you come to Kanazawa, you must go!” You can drink Ishikawa breweries’ local sake without it being bottled—served as-is. The sashimi served on a tub (oke) is a striking spectacle, and the taste matches the impact. If you visit, ordering the “oke” is a must. It also operates not only at night but during the day, so it can work for lunch or dinner. However, it’s often fully booked, so once you decide, it’s best to reserve quickly. If you want to enjoy Kanazawa’s most delicious seafood in a reasonably priced way, this is the place. While expensive restaurants are good as expected, here you can feast on luxurious seafood dishes within about 5,000 yen per person. Access: about a 1-minute walk from Nomachi Station on the Hokuriku Railroad Ishikawa Line.
