Ibaraki Flower Park

Ibaraki Flower Park is a flower-and-greenery park boasting an area about six times the size of Tokyo Dome. In addition to carefully maintained plantings such as the “Rose Terrace,” where you can see 800 varieties and 30,000 rose bushes, you can also observe plants in their natural state, such as the “Large Natural Colony of Mountain Lilies (Yamayuri).” Seasonal flowers are attractive not only during the day but also at night. In the “Illumination Award” run by the Night View Tourism Convention Bureau and Pia Corporation, the park’s illumination ranked 9th in 2018 and 8th in 2019. The flowers illuminated by one million LEDs and various lighting effects are a must-see. However, because the park is currently under construction for a renewal reopening, the 2020 illumination event will not be held. The park is scheduled to reopen in April 2021 as “Ibaraki Flower Park,” and visitors can look forward to upgraded flowerbeds and illuminations. Access is about a 30-minute bus ride from JR Joban Line “Ishioka Station.”
