Hyogo Prefectural Tajima Ranch Park
Hyogo Prefectural Tajima Ranch Park is a comprehensive prefectural park in Shinonsen Town, Hyogo Prefecture, consisting of a ranch, ski area, sports facilities, the Tajima Beef Museum, and more. It is also well known as the venue for the annual “Tajima Beef Festival” held every September. Access is via JR San’in Main Line Hamasaka Station or Yoka Station: take a local/community bus or Zentan Bus bound for “Yumura Onsen,” transfer at the “Yumura Onsen” bus stop to the community bus Teragi Loop Line, get off at the “Tando” bus stop, and walk about 15 minutes. The park is made up of three main areas: the “Farm Village Area,” with facilities such as the visitor house, Tajima Beef Museum, and a small-animal petting plaza; the “Livestock Area,” featuring a display barn where you can see (and touch) Tajima cattle; and the “Ski Area,” which serves as a pasture for Tajima cattle in summer and becomes a ski slope in winter. In addition to the Tajima Beef Festival, there are many seasonal programs throughout the year, including soba noodle-making, chikuwa fish-cake making, Tajima beef tasting events, and snowfield sports days—making it a popular San’in destination for families.
