Okukannabe Ski Resort
Oku-Kannabe Ski Resort is a ski area in the Kannabe Highlands of Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture, affectionately known as “Okukan.” Conveniently located within easy reach of the Keihanshin area, it’s a popular resort offering a long course with a maximum slope of 35 degrees and a longest run of 3.1 km, as well as family slopes, night skiing, and snowmaking equipment—attracting everyone from beginners to advanced skiers. Access is via the JR San’in Main Line to Ebara Station, then take Zentan Bus and get off at the “Yamada” bus stop, right nearby. The resort connects at the summit with the neighboring Manba Ski Resort; with a common lift ticket, you can enjoy both areas. A particularly popular activity is “snow rafting,” where a snowmobile tows a banana boat—fun for both adults and children. The ski and snowboard schools are also well developed. Another attraction is the abundance of rental shops near the slopes, making it easy to enjoy skiing or snowboarding even empty-handed.
