Moerenuma Park

Moerenuma Park is a comprehensive park in Sapporo designed by sculptor Isamu Noguchi under the theme of "making the entire park a single sculptural work." The park covers about 188.8 hectares and offers a space where art and nature harmonize. Construction began in 1982, and the park opened in 2005. The landscape features geometric forms such as artificial hills and facilities, along with fountains and playground equipment, creating a strong fusion of natural scenery and art. In summer there are water-play areas, and in winter you can enjoy cross-country skiing and sledding, making it enjoyable for families as well. The park contains many attractions including Tetra Mound, Sea Fountain, Sakura Forest, Moere Beach, Play Mountain, Moere Mountain, Music Shell, Aqua Plaza & Canal, outdoor stages, and sports facilities. One of the most famous structures is the glass pyramid "HIDAMARI," an iconic piece of architecture where events are sometimes held on weekends. Access is by bus from Subway Kanjō-dōri-Higashi Station; get off near Moere Park East Entrance and walk about 10 minutes.
