Sapporo TV Tower
Sapporo TV Tower is a broadcast tower located inside Odori Park in Sapporo. Completed in 1957 (Showa 32), it stands 147.2 meters tall and has shone as a symbol of Sapporo for more than half a century. From the observation deck at around 90 meters, you can enjoy a full view of Odori Park, and on clear days you can even see as far as the Ishikari Plain and the Sea of Japan. During seasons when the Snow Festival or illuminations light up the city, the observation deck becomes a prime seat for viewing, making it especially popular with couples. Reservations are required, but you can also rent the observation deck for 30 minutes after closing for 10,000 yen—an option worth considering if you want a memorable, special occasion. The tower itself is also illuminated in certain seasons. The basement level (B1) connects directly to the Aurora Town underground shopping arcade, so you can also reach the tower comfortably through the underground network. Sapporo TV Tower is connected underground to both JR Sapporo Station and Susukino Station areas, and from Sapporo Station it is about a 15-minute walk. From Subway Odori Station, it is about a 5-minute walk.
