Hirayu Onsen Hirayunomori
Hirayu Onsen Hirayu no Mori is a hot spring resort featuring an open-atrium gassho-style rest area, accommodation buildings, and cottages. Its entrance building—standing quietly in the forest—is a charming structure created by relocating a 300+ year old folk house. Room types range from standard Japanese, Western, and Japanese-Western rooms to gassho-style buildings, folk-art style rooms, and detached cottages. The forest cottages all come with private open-air baths. Dinner is rustic local cuisine where you can savor Okuhida flavors such as Hida beef teppan-yaki, salt-grilled river fish, and seasonal mountain vegetables. At breakfast, you can enjoy Hida specialty hōba miso and onsen eggs boiled in the spring water. The signature open-air baths are free-flowing source water, rich in wild atmosphere, with 7 baths for men and 9 for women; each differs in cloudiness and temperature, so you can find your favorite and relax. There is also a retro-feel atrium large bath, a unique iron-pot private bath, and a footbath.
