Gero Onsen Fugaku

Gero Onsen Fugaku is a hot spring inn surrounded by the murmuring Hida River and the majestic mountains of Gero. All guest rooms are spacious—each has a main room of 10 tatami mats or more, a wide veranda space, and an entry area. Women can choose their favorite colored yukata, and you can stroll around Gero Onsen in yukata and geta sandals. From the large public bath, you can enjoy panoramic seasonal views of the Hida River and relax body and mind. At night, the open-air bath lets you soak while viewing the Hida River and Gero’s night scenery. A Shigaraki-ware ceramic private bath offers the famous hot spring water as free-flowing source water. Both breakfast and dinner are served in your room, which is reassuring for families with small children. Meals are carefully prepared dish by dish using seasonal ingredients blessed by Hida’s nature, and you can also enjoy chewy, satisfying Hida Koshihikari rice. Fugaku’s Hida beef is A5–A4 rank. Inside the inn, locally grown flowers and seasonal plants are displayed, and you can enjoy ikebana arrangements that change with the seasons. There are five footbaths within walking distance, so you can also enjoy a footbath-hopping stroll.
