Hakata Station
Hakata Station is a major terminal station in Fukuoka City serving JR Kyushu, JR West, and the Fukuoka City Subway. It functions as Hakata’s central transportation hub, bringing together Shinkansen, JR lines, subway, and buses. The station complex “JR Hakata City” is a large station building and commercial facility, housing Hakata Hankyu, Amu Plaza Hakata, and Tokyu Hands, with a total floor area of about 200,000 square meters that attracts visitors across all age groups. On the roof is “Tsubame no Mori Hiroba,” an open terrace area that serves as a relaxing lookout spot. Because it is directly connected and easy to move through, it draws not only rail users but also tourists and local residents. It’s a popular sightseeing base because you can depart and arrive by bus or train from here, and many people also choose nearby hotels for the same reason. With event halls and other functions, it is known as one of Japan’s largest station buildings. Access is immediate—directly connected to Hakata Station.
