Chiba Port Tower

Chiba Port Tower is a landmark tower with a height of 125 meters, built to commemorate Chiba Prefecture’s population surpassing 5 million. It is also a symbol of Chiba Port. A must-visit is the observation area: from the 4th-floor observation room, you can see sights such as Tokyo Skytree, Mt. Tsukuba, Makuhari Shintoshin, and the Keiyo Industrial Zone, and on clear days even Mt. Fuji, the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line, and Tokyo Tower. Not only daytime views but also nighttime scenery is highly recommended—especially the factory lights of the Keiyo Industrial Zone, recognized as part of Japan’s Night View Heritage, which are simply stunning. For couples, the “Sunset Promenade” on the 2nd floor is a highlight. Certified as a “Lover’s Sanctuary,” it offers the experience of “Love Padlocks”: you buy a padlock at the 1st-floor shop, write both names on it, attach it, and vow eternal love. A pink heart monument photo spot is also located on the 2nd floor. The 1st-floor shop sells local specialties like peanut sweets, roasted seaweed, and tsukudani, plus goods of Chiba’s mascot “Chiba-kun” and the tower’s mascot “Po-to-kun.” Access is about a 12-minute walk from JR Keiyo Line Chiba-Minato Station.
