サツキとメイの家
Satsuki and Mei’s House is an exhibition facility inside Aichi Expo Memorial Park in Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture. It recreates the Showa-era home of Satsuki and Mei from the film "My Neighbor Totoro." As a classic cultural house design, it has a nostalgic feel that many people warmly remember. It is an extremely popular tourist attraction not only for visitors from across Japan but also for international travelers. A Ghibli Park project is also planned for the same area, adding to the excitement around the destination. The level of detail in Satsuki and Mei’s House is exceptionally high, making it a spot that truly moves visitors. Moricoro Park, the Aichi Expo Memorial Park, is a huge park of about 190 hectares and also offers activities such as pools and skating, making it popular with families. It also supports fieldwork-style experiences, so adults can enjoy it too—be sure to explore together. To reach Satsuki and Mei’s House, get off at Ai-Chikyuhaku Kinen Koen Station on the Linimo (Tobu Kyuryo Line). After paying the admission fee at the Satsuki and Mei’s House reception, you walk about 15 minutes to the house itself.
