愛・地球博記念公園
Aichi Expo Memorial Park is an urban park in Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture. Also known as Moricoro Park, it is loved by locals and visitors alike. The park was developed on the former site of Expo 2005 Aichi (Aichi World Expo). Covering about 190 hectares, it makes grand use of its vast space with a children’s area, cycling courses, ice skating, a tea room and Japanese garden, Aichi Sato Lab, a field center, and sports facilities such as a baseball field. The large Ferris wheel stands out even from afar and serves as a landmark of Aichi Expo Memorial Park. One of the park’s biggest highlights is that Aichi Prefecture and Studio Ghibli collaborated to create Ghibli Park here. Today, you can visit Satsuki and Mei’s House from "My Neighbor Totoro," open for viewing, and both children and adults can enjoy the nostalgic feel of Showa-era life. With abundant nature, the park is also a great place to enjoy seasonal flowers throughout the year. Access to Aichi Expo Memorial Park is immediate from Ai-Chikyuhaku Kinen Koen Station on the Linimo (Tobu Kyuryo Line).
