新幹線地下街 エスカ
ESCA Underground Shopping Mall is an underground shopping area on the Shinkansen side of JR Nagoya Station in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture. Located right by the Shinkansen platforms, it is a popular tourism-friendly spot for travelers. As soon as you go down the escalator, you arrive at ESCA, making it extremely convenient for picking up everything at once—bento boxes, snacks, drinks, and souvenirs to enjoy on the Shinkansen. You can also spend waiting time shopping or even getting your nails done. ESCA is also packed with famous Nagoya-meshi restaurants, making it a great place to catch up on anything you still want to eat before leaving the city. There is also a parking area one level further down, and because it is so well known, even people who come for pick-ups and drop-offs often stop in. With many coffee shops and cafes, it’s also an ideal place to relax and kill time. Compared to going out of your way to a department store, ESCA is often recommended because it has everything, tends to be less crowded, and is easy to use. Access to ESCA Underground Shopping Mall is immediate after getting off at Nagoya Station on the Tokaido Shinkansen. Exit from the west side and in about 2 minutes you can take the escalator down.
