S-PULSE DREAM PLAZA

S-Pulse Dream Plaza is a large mixed-use commercial complex in Shizuoka City’s bay area. Its landmark is the big Ferris wheel called “Dream Sky.” From the 52-meter-tall wheel, on clear days you can see Mt. Fuji, the Izu Peninsula, Suruga Bay, and even Miho no Matsubara. Inside, there are many ways to enjoy Shimizu: “Shimizu Sushi Yokocho” with multiple sushi shops, the “Shimizu Sushi Museum” where you can learn sushi history and culture, “Chibi Maruko-chan Land” where you can experience the world of the manga set in Shimizu, and the “Shimizu Soccer Shop” packed with football goods including official Shimizu S-Pulse items. On the top (4th) floor there is also a cinema. After enjoying the facility, you can shop for souvenirs at “Suruga Miyage Yokocho,” with a rich selection of Shizuoka sweets, tea, and seafood products. Access is easy via the free shuttle bus: it runs from JR “Shimizu” Station’s Minato Exit (East Exit), via Shizuoka Railway “Shin-Shimizu” Station, to Dream Plaza. On weekdays it runs 1–2 times per hour; on weekends/holidays 2–4 times per hour; one-way travel time is about 6–10 minutes.
