Fuji Safari Park

Fuji Safari Park is one of Japan’s largest safari-style zoos, located in Susono City, Shizuoka at the foothills of Mt. Fuji. It’s popular for letting visitors observe wild animals living freely in a natural setting up close. The park houses about 900 animals across 70 species. In the “Safari Zone,” you can drive your own car or ride a wire-mesh Jungle Bus to see lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and more at close range. On the Jungle Bus, you can even feed bears and lions for an intense experience. In the walkable “Fureai Zone,” you can interact with animals like rabbits and capybaras for a soothing time. There is also a walking tour that lets you observe animals along the outer perimeter of the safari zone for a different kind of zoo experience.
