Grinpa
Grinpa is a children’s amusement park on the 2nd station of Mt. Fuji. In the great outdoors that makes you want to take a deep breath, you’ll find athletic play areas and attractions. The multi-level trick maze “Cocodoko” is one of Japan’s largest in floor area, challenging you to overcome stairs, ropes, and other mechanisms to reach the goal. The “Ultraman M78 Ultraman Park Area,” packed with Ultraman, is thrilling for many kids, and the “Sylvanian Village Area” feels like you’ve stepped into the world of Sylvanian Families. If you want to move your body, head to the well-equipped athletics area. There’s also an indoor amusement facility for rainy days. Surrounded by Mt. Fuji’s grandeur, it’s also nice to stroll or picnic while enjoying seasonal flower fields and greenery. Access: route buses run from JR Gotemba, Mishima, and Fuji Stations, and direct buses also run from major stations within Shizuoka and from the Tokyo area. Set tickets (round-trip bus + Grinpa one-day coupon) are a good deal. By car: about 20 minutes from Tomei Expressway Susono IC; located along the (toll) Minami-Fuji Evergreen Line. Hours vary by season/weather and the park may close depending on conditions.
