Saginoyuso
Saginoyu-so is a ryokan in Saginoyu Onsen, Yasugi City, Shimane Prefecture. Saginoyu Onsen sits at the foot of Gassan and is close to the Adachi Museum of Art, making it an easy stop for sightseeing and day-use bathing. Among the area’s inns, Saginoyu-so is considered especially distinguished. The hot spring—named after a white heron that healed a leg injury—is natural free-flowing water, with both open-air and large indoor baths to soothe travel fatigue. There are also reservable private open-air baths and private indoor baths, which guests can use free of charge. A Japanese set breakfast can be enjoyed while looking out on the garden, and dinner is seasonal San’in cuisine served in a private room. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and excellent food, you can spend deeply relaxed time. Room options range from an entire detached kura-style building to rooms with open-air baths (plus a footbath), as well as standard Japanese and Western rooms. The location is outstanding: Adachi Museum of Art is just 30 seconds away on foot. Access: from JR Yasugi Station, take a bus to “Saginoyu Onsen / Adachi Museum of Art-mae,” then walk about 3 minutes.
