Matsue Vogel Park
Matsue Vogel Park is an all-weather theme park in Matsue City, centered on flowers and birds. On a 32-hectare site, it is one of the world’s largest parks of its kind. It is close to Tamatsukuri Onsen and Yaegaki Shrine, making it a popular same-day sightseeing combination. The park features two bird greenhouses and a flower display greenhouse, plus many events such as penguin shows and owl shows. Visitors can feed and interact with over 90 species of birds from around the world. The owl show is particularly rare in Japan and a must-see. In the flower greenhouse, begonias and fuchsias bloom abundantly year-round, creating a striking scene of flowers cascading not only below but also above—a view you don’t often see. Dining is also well provided, with Izumo soba and family-friendly buffet options. Both adults and children can have a full, satisfying day. Access: from Matsue Shinjiko Onsen Station, about 16 minutes by train.
