Road Station Kii-Nagashima Manbou

Michi-no-Eki Kii-Nagashima Mambo is a roadside station in Kihoku Town, Mie Prefecture, offering a wide range of products centered on local specialties. The "mambo" (sunfish) in the name is also the town’s symbolic fish, and in fact it has long been eaten in this area. At the diner inside the facility, recognizable by its large green triangular roof, you can try the "Sunfish Fry Set Meal," so if you’re curious about what sunfish tastes like, be sure to give it a try. In the local products and fresh fish sections, you’ll find seafood and mountain produce from Kii-Nagashima, as well as processed sunfish items such as "Sunfish Curry." Outside, the "Mambo Food Stall" sells local street foods like "sunfish skewers" and "deep-fried shark," which you can enjoy fresh on the grassy plaza or terrace seating on-site. It’s easy to access because it sits along National Route 42, about a five-minute drive after exiting Kii-Nagashima IC on the Kisei Expressway. The Kihoku Town Tourism Association is also right nearby, so you can pick up sightseeing information and enjoy your stay even more.
