Yukibou Hakusen
Yukibo Hakusen is a ryokan founded in 1955 (Showa 30). It began as a kappo ryokan with just eight rooms, then underwent a full renovation in 1999, becoming a 33-room inn (4 Western-style rooms, 29 Japanese-style rooms). Of these, 16 rooms have private open-air baths. In Michelin Guide Tottori 2019, it received a three-star rating. The entire facility became non-smoking as of April 1, 2020, though smoking is possible in designated areas. The open-air bath and large public bath are designed to showcase a superb view of the Sea of Japan’s horizon. Facilities include a hot Finnish sauna for men and a humidity-friendly aroma steam bath for women, allowing you to enjoy a sense of thalassotherapy shaped by nature’s gifts. Meals are kaiseki featuring abundant fresh seafood landed at Sakaiminato, one of Japan’s leading fishing ports. Access: by car, about 15 minutes (6.5 km) from Yonago IC via Route 431. By public transport, take a local bus from JR San’in Main Line “Yonago Station” to “Kaike Onsen / Kanko Center” (about 20 minutes), then walk about 5 minutes (approx. 500 m) to the inn.
